Like you might know I came from Mexico so going back to my root for this research paper would be extremely inspiring. I don't know if i could do this , but I would like to try to do my research paper on the language of the Aztecs and may be analyze their poems.
This might work, Mimi, but you'd have to choose a single section to read/write about. The book's intro is very good though (you can read pieces of it here on Google Books . It's still going to be a tough project to do unless you already have a background in this. I think you should pick up the book either way since you'll want to read it sometime anyway, but have you looked at some of the more current Chican@ poets like Jimmy Santiago Baca or Richard Rodriguez? I think you'd like their work and you'd be able to do one of their books with a lot less research. To do the Aztecs, you need a lot of background info that you may not have time to find right now.
